What is photocatalytic oxidation?

Photocatalytic Oxidation also well known as “PCO”, it’s a proven technology tested by prestigious American third party institutions. PCO is a 100% safe technology that has been already installed in more than 700 facilities in the US.  

What makes  PCO different than other technologies is that instead of capturing pollutants, it eliminates them from the air, even those smaller than 0.1 microns, such as bacterias, viruses, fungi and VOC’s.

With Genesis Air PCO panels, even bioaerosols such as SARS-COV-2 and VOC’s are broken down thus significantly improving the air we breathe. 

How does it work?

Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) is a technology that accelerates the natural decomposition of organic matter. It uses broad-spectrum UV light to react with a thin fabric coated with titanium dioxide crystals. This resulted in oxidation of microorganisms which then be absorbed on catalyst’s surface. In simple words, it’s essentially a powerful, efficient and clean photocatalysis process.

The fact that all oxidation process occurs into the PCO panel, turn this technology also a very safe option.

Capture: a MERV filter, captures most of the pollen, mold, mites, domestic dust, animal hair and many other allergens and irritants.

Deactivate: UV-C lamps energize the photocatalyst and clean the panel surfaces. UV-C light activates the TiO2 surface located along the panel, generating free radicals-hydroxyl – OH.

Destroy: Free radicals destroy malignant molecules via oxidation, converting them to benign molecules. In addition, the DNA / RNA of viruses, bacteria and spores that were present in the air stream are destroyed. The carbon-hydrogen chains break, controlling odors.

Why Genesis Air PCO is different than other technologies?

Genesis Air incorporates revolutionary technology in its photocatalytic panels.
